I thought "Walking" ... what is there to know about walking that we don't already know. Health benefits. Good posture. Clear head. Picked up the book anyway as it was centered around weight loss and I do need to loose some unwanted pounds. I liked the way the author suggests goal setting starting with small goals to ultimately develop the habit of walking.Have you ever noticed that those who live in the core of a city - I mean the downtown area - tend to be slimmer than their suburban cousins? I think its because they live close enough to most everything that they walk to where they need to get to; while suburban dwellers are further from their centers and drive to get to the store, the dentist or just to visit with friends. This book Weight Loss with Walking proves my thinking to be right.So, I've written down my goals and am ready to develop a new habit - that of a daily walk. And when I achieve my goals/habit, I'm going to treat myself to a pair of one of those "barefoot" walking shoes.

I was searching for a guide that can help me to get healthier and more active. I was really inspired by this book. I didn't believe that you can lose weight just by walking but after using the methods I already lost about 3 pounds. If you follow the strategies and become more active you can really lose a lot of pounds in a few months. It takes a bit time just with any sport-activity to lose weight. Don't expect to lose 10 pounds in one week. But it is possible to become much more thinner and to burn a lot of fat after 3-4 months. I really recommend this book to all those who are struggling with weight-problems.

I have really been trying to lose weight recently with a hurt back and I knew I couldn't do much to lose weight. I got this book and I am so happy I did. Using the strategies in the book I have already lost a few pounds! I have been walking every morning, like the book says to do and it is a great idea, because then it's done right away and I don't have to think about it through out the day. There are so many wonderful tips in this book on how to lose weight. I highly recommend this book to anyone!

As a long time fitness enthusiast I have read about and tried everything from LSD cardio to HIIT. I was thus intrigued by how an everyday activity often taken for granted can achieve weight loss. The author provided insight into what, when, why and how. I have incorporated walking for weight loss into my daily routine, my wife and I do it together, so it's a bonding time as well. Very helpful and an eye opener that often success lies in simplicity.

This was a very quick read (short book), but there was some good info included. There were a few facts given by the author that I questioned (skip breakfast?), and a lot of antidotal evidence given. I would only recommend this book to someone who has done no reading on walking or nutrition as it would make a good intro to the subject.

Unfortunately my old injuries do not allow me to pursue any kind of more demanding fitness than walking or golf, and I’m OK with it. Walking is just about the easiest thing you can do for your health, and it’s cheap too, you do not need to pay for any membership fee or buy $300 sneakers just to be able to do it (I do use my iPhone to listen to music while walking). If you want to try it this book can help you, it offers some really simple and down to earth advice for walking for fitness, weight loss and fun.

I always thought that the best exercise to lose weight is running but I changed my mind after reading this book. Now I’m convinced that you get the best results by walking. This book contains everything you need to know about losing weight with walking. It will help you prepare and create a habit. It also teaches how to stay motivated. Recommended.

I really enjoyed this book. It's very well written and an easy to follow guide to get you started on walking. I agree that walking as a form of exerise is underrated. There a number of people at my work who have been walking consistantly and their results have been amazing. This book will definetly get you started on the right path.
