I have read many many books about Walt Disney. This book gave a different viewpoint. It was a fast read. 1928-2016-discussed movies, parks and personalities. I love Walt and what he accomplished and that his legacy carries on today.
The book was informative, but I found the timeline format to be distracting. In that regard, the title is very misleading as it’s more timeline format than actual story.

I am not a medical professional. Have taken a few Red Cross first aid class (including "Wilderness and Remote First Aid" - excellent!), and this book helps me translate between the super-comprehensive "Merck Manual" and my limited medical training. If you're going to own the full Merck Manual, and you're not a medical professional, you should also own this book.
Merck Manuals or essential when the power is off and you can't use your computer patient diagnostic program. Every Doctor, PA, NP, Paramedic etc should have one. I keep one in my bag in my vehicle just in case the world turns upside down. I also keep a "U.S. Army Special Forces Medical Handbook" in the bag as well in case conventional therapies are not available.
This is a short but very comprehension book! I love how this book uses clinical names for symptoms rather than plain language. I used it for a pathophysiology class where we had to use proper medical terminology when completing homework. It made it very easy to review case studies and answer questions about patient symptoms. I would have given this 5 stars as it could have included more symptoms.
Very similar to the Merck Manual Go-To-Home Guide for Symptoms, but with a more technical vocabulary. It is set up the same way with descriptions and charts, but is in a somewhat smaller, more portable, format. I imagine this would be the one for nursing and med-school students and other professional medical workers and technicians.
This is a great title to have around the house. It's not as 'in depth' as 'The Merck Manual' but then it specifically isn't supposed to be. I would recommend this to anyone who likes to get a feel for what is likely to be going on when symptoms arrive, and especially to parents of younger children who always seem to manage to have something malfunctioning in their young bodies. The book would make a great gift without fear of confusing the recipient with medical 'jargon' when the time arose to consult it.
i am a medical student and i was looking for some sort of diagnostic sieve/flow chart in a book to help me streamline and categorize my thought process towards developing useful differentials.. and i came upon this book... although it is helpful in this regard, i was expecting a bit more differentials, as well as a bit more details in the pathophysiology and treatment sections given that it was a MERCK.....nonetheless this book is worth buying given its price and has served its purpose somewhat... looking forward to future revisions

Very few mainstream books about IBM mainframe architecture and assembly language are being written these days . Many of the author's explanations in plain language, particularly of recently-added IBM hardware features, are no doubt not available anywhere else, except hidden in dark corners of arcane IBM technical publicationsBravo to the author for that!My primary gripes with this book concern 1) very poor proofreading/editing and 2) very poor physical construction.=> 1. Just as an example, but a glaring one, the copyright page tells us that "Windows if [ sic] a trademark of Microsoft Corporation." Hey, this is at least the third edition of the book, if the copyright dates are to be believed (2011, 2013, 2014). Do you think someone just might have noticed and fixed that typo by now?=> 2. The book is literally falling apart on me! When one page in the middle of the book suddenly came loose and fell out, I lovingly glued it back in, hoping there would be no more of the same. But a week or two later it's the same story with yet another page. How much free time do I have to restore a book, page by page, that I purchased only a month or two ago, and have treated --as I do all my books-- with great care and respect (such that nothing *I* have done could be causing it to unravel on me).I would not normally hold it against this book, or any book, that rather than being published by Addison-Wesley, or O'reilly, or McGraw-Hill, or one of the other big names in computer book publishing, its publisher is Threadsafe Publishing and Railway Maintenance Co. of Hyannis, Nebraska. But when the *quality* suffers greatly on that account, I would certainly hold that against the book!Is the name "Threadsafe Publishing and Railway Maintenance Co." some kind of a joke? Well, they should stick to what they know best. (Laying track, perhaps? Hey, you won't find *me* riding on any of their rail lines!) But leave book production to the experts.Instead of "Threadsafe Publishing...", the company would be more aptly named "Threadbare Publishing".
I bought this book with the intention of accomplishing one thing...come up to speed on all the new instructions and changes related to 64 bit. Well, this book is very poorly written did not help me much. Although it's a fairly new edition (2011 - reason why I bought it in the first place) compared to my old 1986 book, the writer has a hard time explaining even the basics of the language. His writing style is convoluted and unclear and the examples are poorly chosen. I did a search and this seems to be one of the only new editions of Assembly language for the mainframe. Any one out there with good knowledge of the language could make a lot of money publishing a book covering this subject. After all, the mainframe business is still alive and well.
Having started my career in programming in the early 1960's -- machine language, in the case of IBM / 360 / 370 and following mainframes were my "teething rings". The current book would have been improved only by including more on the user defined macro instructions which almost all programmers use to manage the allocation of SAVE AREA's and BASE REGISTERS. Other than that, the book is up-to-date including the expanded addressing of the newer machines -- a neat trick.
There book has a good content but there are several errors in formatting , turning difficult for a novice to learn with this book.I recommend this book for someone with experience in Assembler for X86 or MIPS .Other problem, IBM architecture has some oddities and is not a good start for any student.
I am an application programmer [HLL] with 35 + years experience on IBM plafforms, but have no knowledge of BAL or Assembler. I was unable to get into this book. I'm sure programmers with some assembler background would understand this book, but Not for beginners.

This a well-written introduction to IBM z/Architecture assembly language - aimed probably at Freshmen CS students. Very good for someone just getting started. It lacks details of more advanced books - however it is easily understood.

This book is a good starting point for those interested in archaeology. Even though it was described in the description, I was not expecting the book to be as warped as it was. Does not lay flat and is really not usable.

Wonderful story! Beautifully illustrated! Well written for children!
As usual there are the lovely Demi illustrations, but not much thought and effort was put into planning the text (once again!). This book is much too wordy, and used language too complicated and boring to connect with children. I do believe the audience for the book was supposed to be children, but I find this book cumbersome, and I may never really read it very often to my kids. You are better off with a children's bible.
