My non-reader was struggling with the selections on the summer reading list and hated the first book read. I suggested this one as the second because it sounded interesting and looked easier to read than a novel. The kiddo loved it! It sparked discussions of all sorts and was a big hit.
Really awesome book! I bought this for my nature loving 6 yr old. He loves to read it together-although some of it is definitely for older kids so we skip over those parts. My husband-not a book lover by any means-even picked it up and looked through it. The whole time he kept saying he wished he had books like this one when he was a kid:)
I bought this book for my 10 year old nephew and my 8 year old son saw it and had to have it also. They both loved it. It's a very nice looking hardcover book with nice illustrations. A year later and my son still picks it up occasionally and reads through it. He gave it 5 stars, so I do too.
I wasnt expecting this to be a hard cover book. I missed that in the description, but was pleasantly surprised upon delivery. My 9 yo son just cant put this book down. He spent the entire day trying to tell me how he would wrestle an alligator, escape from quicksand, or protect himself from a grizzly attack. This book is WAY cool!!!
We used this as part of a homeschool geography program, but my kids (especially my 11-yr old) keep reaching for it for non-school reading. Lots of different, short topics, so it can be picked up and enjoyed over and over, with big breaks in between.
The book can educate, entertain and excite kids and adults alike. Many interesting facts and topics, spiced with history and good illustrations, teaching useful skills in the very attractive way.
The information contained in How to be a World Explorer is excellent, and my grandson is enjoying it very much.
Wonderful for "young" kids ...full of great stories...facts.

Cute book with a few great step-by-step guides for drawing really cute little characters and lots of coloring pages. I was just hoping for moe if the drawing guides since it's a little pricey.

There were plenty of blank pages that gave me pause, cause what did I pay for. But the step by step guides to drawing are worth it. My niece loved it.
This book was made really well and thoughtfully. My daughter is 7 and she was so excited to receive it and immediately started using it!I like that it has different sections instead of being just 'another' coloring book for kids:1) Step-By-Step: "Follow along with our easy step-by-step doodles to spark your creativity!" - containing steps on how to draw things of varying difficulty such as flowers, rainbows, cacti, and mandalas.2) Creative Doodle: "Add your own unique doodles and drawings to complete the pictures." - containing pages with pictures for the kids to color and add their own art work to 'complete' the page. Subjects all from mermaids with inspirational quotes, to mountain scapes, to fairy tale settings.3) Doodle Diary - with space for the child to put their name in the "This doodle diary belongs to: __" section. Blank pages with intricate borders for full creative space!The pages are nice and thick. And the sections with only one side of coloring section, the back is black to help the colors from seeping through.. Which is very thoughtful so as to not ruin other pages. Over all VERY happy about this book, as is my daughter.I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
I've been helping my kindergartner learn how to draw simple pictures of animals and people, and thought this book would help her imagination a little more. Well, it's certainly much more than just a doodle book! It gives step by step instruction of how to draw different things (like a rainbow, some plants, butterflies, hearts, flowers) and there are plenty of pages in the back for her to make her own doodles AND color some sheets. The pages are reinforced with a black backing so she has been able to use her markers and colored pencils without a problem of them leaking to the next page. The drawings are just cute as can be. They have given enough information to spur her on to draw all kinds of new things, and I like the 'Doodle Diary' in the back which she uses to let her imagination go wild.I will be buying several of these for birthday gifts and Christmas stocking stuffers, and I just think this book is darling.I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
When I first flipped thorugh this book, would say it has two part to it. The first is a few doodle tutorials and the second are some fun backgrounds.The actual doodles are a lot of fun. They book breaks it down into step by step guids that even children can follow along with.The next part is some nice backgrounds and boarders. While the kids may draw inside of them, I try to teach the children to use it as inspiration. The more artowrk they look at, the better they will become.Overall this is a nice gude. It offers a lot of simple inspiration for kids. A great stating point to build up on skills.I received this book in exchange for an honest review. I love how encouraging this book is! No matter how many times Robert went to his mother complaining that he couldn't juggle the three oranges, she would remind him to keep practicing because you can't always do something the first time. I can't wait to read more of this series with my nephew.

I have read many many books about Walt Disney. This book gave a different viewpoint. It was a fast read. 1928-2016-discussed movies, parks and personalities. I love Walt and what he accomplished and that his legacy carries on today.
The book was informative, but I found the timeline format to be distracting. In that regard, the title is very misleading as it’s more timeline format than actual story.

I am not a medical professional. Have taken a few Red Cross first aid class (including "Wilderness and Remote First Aid" - excellent!), and this book helps me translate between the super-comprehensive "Merck Manual" and my limited medical training. If you're going to own the full Merck Manual, and you're not a medical professional, you should also own this book.
Merck Manuals or essential when the power is off and you can't use your computer patient diagnostic program. Every Doctor, PA, NP, Paramedic etc should have one. I keep one in my bag in my vehicle just in case the world turns upside down. I also keep a "U.S. Army Special Forces Medical Handbook" in the bag as well in case conventional therapies are not available.
This is a short but very comprehension book! I love how this book uses clinical names for symptoms rather than plain language. I used it for a pathophysiology class where we had to use proper medical terminology when completing homework. It made it very easy to review case studies and answer questions about patient symptoms. I would have given this 5 stars as it could have included more symptoms.
Very similar to the Merck Manual Go-To-Home Guide for Symptoms, but with a more technical vocabulary. It is set up the same way with descriptions and charts, but is in a somewhat smaller, more portable, format. I imagine this would be the one for nursing and med-school students and other professional medical workers and technicians.
This is a great title to have around the house. It's not as 'in depth' as 'The Merck Manual' but then it specifically isn't supposed to be. I would recommend this to anyone who likes to get a feel for what is likely to be going on when symptoms arrive, and especially to parents of younger children who always seem to manage to have something malfunctioning in their young bodies. The book would make a great gift without fear of confusing the recipient with medical 'jargon' when the time arose to consult it.
i am a medical student and i was looking for some sort of diagnostic sieve/flow chart in a book to help me streamline and categorize my thought process towards developing useful differentials.. and i came upon this book... although it is helpful in this regard, i was expecting a bit more differentials, as well as a bit more details in the pathophysiology and treatment sections given that it was a MERCK.....nonetheless this book is worth buying given its price and has served its purpose somewhat... looking forward to future revisions
